With today's closing price of 112.16 euros, Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG for the first time reported the highest market capitalization among Austria's listed companies. With a total of 154,667,500 shares the market capitalization amounted to 17.35 billion euros and thus became the highest on the Vienna Stock Exchange for the first time.
Raiffeisen International has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since April 2005. At the IPO the shares were issued at a price of 32.5 euros per share. The reasons for gaining the leading position were the extraordinary good development of the share price – it was the best performing stock in the ATX and the European peer index DJ Euro STOXX Banks in 2006 – as well the capital increase, which was closed some weeks ago. Raiffeisen International allocated with this SPO 11,897,500 shares resulting in a total volume of the placement of approximately 1.24 billion euros.
Some weeks ago Raiffeisen International surpassed the 13 million customer benchmark and opened in the Russian city Tyumen its official 3,000th business outlet in Central and Eastern Europe. With a staff of more than 57,000 Raiffeisen International is also a top employer among Austria's listed companies.
